According to a Danish Microsoft fanboy blog (you recognise them because all the pages ends with *.aspx) who already uses IS29500 instead of DIS29500, the japanese secretariat of JTC1 has encouraged the SC34 group to go forward with the maintenance of OOXML, despite the appeals, and despite wasting the time and money of everybody flying to London for discussing changes that risks to be put to trash if the appeals succeeds. Here is what members of SC34 have received:
At its recent plenary meeting in Norway, JTC 1/SC 34 established 2 ad hoc groups concerned with the collection of comments on and maintenance of ISO/IEC 29500. Adjudicating these appeals will necessarily delay ISO/IEC 29500, at a minimum, and this delay could have a significant effect on the work of these ad hoc groups. SC 34 and its ad hoc groups should take this into account when planning their future work.
